Take-Away
This book does a wonderful job reframing sexuality , especially for women, and giving us new ways to approach desire, pleasure, and finding ways toward great sex. Read it alone, with a partner, with your therapist, or with some friends–and there’s a workbook available as well if that’s your jam.
Critique
Not so much a critique on the book, but on the lack of research available to inform books like this on sex and pleasure in the trans and queer experience. Given the dearth of research, Emily Nagoski recognizes this limitations this causes and acknowledges the validity of these missing human experiences.
Check It Out
While this book focuses largely on cis-het women’s sexuality, it’s a read that offers helpful language and understanding for many others as well. Find this book and others by Emily Nagoski below.
