About Me
Roman Michael (They/Them)
Being a witness to people's journey towards self-empowerment and acceptance is a fundamental driving force in my life. Nothing brings me more delight than seeing individuals in pain and shame heal and find true freedom, which ignites my passion each and every day.
I am dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable discussing any issues or concerns you may have. I strive to maintain an open-minded, sex-positive, affirming and inclusive attitude.
My Philosophy
First, I want to express my deep passion for the work of therapy and the transformative power that it can have on people's lives. I hold a strong belief that every human being has unlimited potential, no matter what challenges they may have faced in their past. My approach to helping my clients is rooted in this belief, and I work tirelessly to facilitate growth and empowerment within them.
One of the biggest obstacles that my clients often confront is shame--a powerful emotion that can hold them back from living to their fullest potential. However, I am committed to helping my clients work through this emotion and empowering them to overcome their obstacles.
As a therapist, I act as a supportive and non-judgmental guide in the journey towards self-improvement. I assist my clients in developing the skills and tools they need to move forward with confidence and strength, and help them to experience a renewed sense of self-assurance. Through our shared process, my aim is to encourage my clients to continue growing and improving even after our sessions together have concluded.
Who Am I?
I've many identities, just like everyone, and being a therapist is but one. My identities give me a unique perspective and level of expertise in the areas I specialize. As a non-binary, queer human, I have dedicated much of my reading and work toward my LGBTQIA+ community members, helping them find the joy and empowerment to live fulfilling lives.
I'm also a doggy parent. As you may learn as we journey together, I have the utmost respect and admiration for parents of humans--where the energy to keep up with it all comes from, I may never know. However, I love my little Jack, and you may see him on camera behind me from time to time.
As someone who loves adventure, I've traveled and experienced many different people, cultures, and perspectives. This has given me a unique perspective and an understanding of the importance of accepting others for who they are. My work as a therapist has allowed me to pay forward this acceptance and understanding to help others explore their own identities and sexuality in a safe, nonjudgmental space.
“If we share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.”
Therapy Method

Person-Centered
Person-centered therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on the individual's unique experience and perspective. It emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where the person can explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors and work towards achieving self-acceptance and personal growth.

Strength-Based
Strength-based therapy is a type of psychological therapy that emphasizes the client's strengths and resources, rather than focusing solely on their problems and deficits. It encourages clients to build on their existing strengths to overcome challenges and develop positive coping strategies.

Skill Building
Skill building in therapy involves teaching clients new coping mechanisms, communication techniques, and problem-solving skills that they can apply in their daily lives. This is achieved through a combination of education, guidance, and practice, ultimately enabling clients to lead more fulfilling and empowered lives.
